Found Japan, Ryukyu Islands and Taiwan in shady areas of primary, broad-leafed, and semi-deciduous, mixed and coniferous forests on rocky limestone at elevations of 1300 to 1400 meters as a miniature sized, cold growing terrestrial that has a single, cordate, 3 lobed, obtuse leaf that blooms after leaf fall on an erect, 6" [15 cm] long, single flowered inflorescence with a nodding flower.
