Common Name or Meaning The Hairy Nervilia
Flower Size
Found in Mayotte in the Comoros Islands near Madagascar on denuded cliffs as a hot growing terrestrial
Has been considered to be synomonous with N stolziana but there were no flowers with the type material. Recently photographed by Etienne Vennetier on the island of Mayotte in the Comoros Islands. It can now be said that it is not synomonous with N stolziana but is close to Nervilia crociformis, but with important differences in size, both on the leaves and on the flowers, as well as a very different ecology. This is why this name is kept for the time being, pending a revision with a phylogenetic study on the genus Nervilia which should arrive soon.
Synonyms *Pogonia hirsuta Blume 1859
