Found in Lan Yu Taiwan in evergreen forests at elevations under 400 meters as a miniature sized, hot growing terrestrial with a whitish, subglobose to ovoid tuber giving rise to an erect stem carrying a single abaxially pale green, adaxially green, 5 to 6 sided to cordate, membraneous, glabrous, 5 to 7 main veined, margin crisped, acute, cordate below into the petiolate base leaf that blooms in the late winter and early spring on an erect, peduncle brownish beige, provided with 1 to 2 tubular sheaths, 3.2 to 6" [8 to 15 cm] long, single flowered inflorescence with lanceolate to linear-lanceolate, acute, shorter to the same size as the ovary floral bracts and carrying nodding resupinate flowers.
