Found in central Brazil as a small sized, cool to cold growing terrestrial with an erect, thin, glabrous below, sparsely short, puberulous-glandulous above, enveloped by 5 to 7 erect, dark reddish bracts, somewhat sinuous, pale green below, dark reddish above stems carrying non referenced leaves that blooms on a short rachis .8 to 2.4" [2 to 6 cm] long, 3 to 9 flowered inflorescence with lanceolate, pelucid, acuminate, 3 nerved floral bracts and carrying relatively small, ereect to erect patent flowers.
