Found in Surinam, northern Brazil, Venezuela, Ecuador and Bolivia at elevations around 450 to 650 meters as a miniature sized, hot to warm growing epiphyte with approximate, ovate, slightly flattened pseudobulbs enveloped basally by distichous, imbricating, foliaceous sheaths and carrying a single, apical, broadly oblong, rounded apically, cuneate below into the base leaf that blooms in the spring through early summer on a basal, to 6" [15 cm] long, pendent, often branched near the base to form a secondary inflorescence after the first has passed, spirally arranged, laxly many flowered inflorescence
