Found in New Guinea at elevations around 300 to 450 meters as a small sized, hot growing epiphyte with a very short rhizome giving rise to a short, erect, densely leafy stem carrying 4 to 5, erect-patent, ligulate, acute, subfalcate-oblique leaves that blooms in the fall and winter on an erect, to to 4" [10 cm] long, cylindrical, densely many flowered inflorescence with lanceolate, acuminate, serrate-dentate margin, equal to the ovary floral bracts.
