Found in New Guinea in thick moss at elevations around 1000 meters as a medium sized, warm to cool growing epiphyte with a short rhizome giving rise to a subflexuous stem carrying laxly 6 to 9, erect-patent to erect, linear-falcate, acute, falcate leaves that blooms in the early summer on a graceful, elongate, cylindrical, 4 to 7.6" [10 to 19 cm] long, densely many flowered inflorescence.

Schlechter states that the flowers are green which is unique to the New Guinea species of the subgenus.
