Found in New Guinea at elevations around 1200 meters as a miniature sized, cool growing epiphyte with a very short rhizome giving rise to very short, erect, densely leafy stem carrying 4 to 6, erect-patent, obliquely subfalcate, lanceolate-ligulate, acute to subacuminate, glabrous leaves that blooms in the winter on a somewhat curved, to 1.4" [3.5 cm] long, laxly to 15 flowered inflorescence with lanceolate, acute, glabrous, subdentate margin, equal to the ovary floral bracts.
Schlechter states that the flowers are red brown
