Found in Vietnam in dry dipterocarp forests and woodlands at elevations of 700 to 800 meters as a miniature sized, warm growing, clustering epiphyte with an abbreviate, very short stem carrying 2 to 5, imbricate, very fleshy, , without distinct articulation at the base, oblong-narrowly ovate, slightly oblique, triangular acute apically leaves that blooms in the fall on a subterminal, straight to arching, peduncle stout, erect, [.8 to 1.5 cm] long, provided with a few distant, oblong-ovate, finely irregularily fimbriate, sterile bracts, cylindrical, 1.4 to 3" [3.5 to 7 cm] long overall, rachis straight to arching, inflated, fleshy, longitudinally ribbed 1 to 2.4" [2.5 to 6 cm] long, densely many flowered inflorescence with oblong-ovate, cymbiform, rounded and irregularily fimbriate apically longer than the ovary floral bracts
"The new species resembles Oberonia pachyphylla King & Pantl., but it differs well in the fmbriate floral bracts, the verruculose sepals, the denticulate petals and the fimbriate lip.
