Found in New Guinea at elevations around 400 meters as a small sized, hot growing epiphyte with a very short rhizome giving rise to a short, erect, densely leafy stem carrying 3 to 5 to 5, erect-patent, ligulate, acute to subacute, falcate-oblique leaves that blooms in the fallon an erect to suberect, to to 4.4" [11 cm] long, densely many flowered inflorescence with ovate-lanceolate, acuminate, pectinate-dentate margin, exterior densely muricate-papillose, equal to the ovary floral bracts.
Schlechter states that the flowers are a very dark brown.
