Found in the eastern Himalayas, Assam, Bhutan, Myanmar and Thailand at eleavations 700 to 1300 meters as a medium sized, cool growing epiphyte with broadly linear, acute, conduplicate leaves that blooms in the late spring and summer on an erect then arching, terminal, peduncle ebracteate, fleshy, cylindrical, fat, to 10" [25 cm] long overall, rachis 5.6 to 6.8" [14 to 17 cm] long, densely many flowered inflorescence with longer than the ovary, oblong, acute floral bracts

This is one of the largest Oberonia.
