Found in Sumatra, Java, Borneo, New Guinea?, the Moluccas, Sualwesi, and the Philippines in dense forests at elevations of 10 to 800 meters as a small sized, hot to warm growing epiphyte with an elongate, sword-like, winged stem enveloped completely by imbricate leaf sheath bases carrying 5 to 7, well spaced, linear-lanceolate, acute, light green, fleshy leaves that blooms in the summer on a terminal, erect, cylindrical, peduncel very short, rachis ribbed 3.2 to 5.6" [8 to 14 cm] long, densely many flowered inflorescence.
