Found in New Guinea at elevations around 600 meters as a mini-miniature sized, warm growing epiphyte with a very short rhizome giving rise to a very short, erect, densely leafy stem carrying 3 to 5, erect-patent to suberect, ligulate, acute to subacute, falcate-oblique leaves that blooms in the fall on an erect to suberect, to to 1.8" [4.5 cm] long, cylindrical, densely many flowered inflorescence with lanceolate, acute, densely pectinate-dentate margin, dorsal muricate-papillose, equal to the ovary floral bracts.
Schlechter states that the flowers are a very dark brown.
