Found in New Guinea at elevations around 800 meters as a small sized, warm growing epiphyte with a short rhizome giving rise to an erect, very short, densely leafy stem carrying 4 to 5, erect-patent, linear, acute, subfalcate-oblique leaves that blooms in the fall on an elongate, suberect, to 5.2" [13 cm] long, densely many flowered inflorescence with narrowly lanceolate, acuminate, glabrous, subdentate margin, dorsally carinate, more or less equal to the ovary floral bracts.
Schlechter states that theflowers are red-brown.
