Found in New Guinea at elevations around 800 meters as a small sized, warm growing epiphyte with a short rhizome giving rise to an elongate, flexuous, densely leafy stem carrying falcate-ligulate, acute to acuminate leaves that blooms in the winter on an elongate, to 4" [10 cm] long, densely many flowered, cylindrical inflorescence with lanceolate, subacute, glabrous, margin subdebtate, as long as the ovary floral bracts.

Schlechter states that the orchid is distinguished by the large leaves and flowers with the thickened lip. with auricles along the edge, the lamina which is sharply toothed at the base and the yellow brown color.
