Found in the Chinese Himalayas, Assam, India, the eastern Himalayas, Nepal and Thailand in forests on trees at elevations of 300 to 2000 meters as a miniature sized, hot to cool growing epiphyte with a very short stem carrying ensiform, semi-falcate, acute leaves that blooms in the fall on an axillary, slender, terete, bracteate, longer than the leaves, decurved, 2.2 to 4.4" [5.5 to 11 cm] cm] long, many flowered inflorescence with as long as the ovary, ovate, acuminate floral bracts and carrying scattered, pale or orange yellow flowers
