Found in New Guinea in thick moss at elevations around 1000 meters as a small sized, warm to cool growing epiphyte with a short rhizome giving rise to a strict densely leafy stem carrying 5 to 8, erect to suberect, obliquely linear, acute thickly coriaceous leaves that blooms in the late spring on a 4.8" [12 cm] long, densely many flowered inflorescence with hyaline, patent, oblong-elliptic, apiculate, dorsally carinate, irregularily serrate margins, longer than the ovary floral bracts.

Schlechter states that the leaves are very thick and is a diagnostic within the section, the lip as well is very differnt and the flowers are yellowish with orange yellow towards the base anther.
