Found in northern Vietnam in primary broad-leaved and mixed, humid, shady evergreen forests often on mossy trees at elevations of 1500 to 1600 meters as a mini-miniature sized, cool growing, clustering epiphyte with a short, branching stem carrying 6 to 14, slightly fleshy, no basal articulation, distichous, equitant, oblong-narrowly ovate, somewhat recurved, apiculate leaves that blooms in the winter on a straigth to arching, paniculate, peduncle slender, curved, provided with many narrowly triangular, acuminate, sterile bracts, .4 to 2" [1 to 5 cm] long overall, rachis straight to arching, longitudinally ribbed, verticillate whiorled, many flowered inflorescnence with narrowly triangular, straight, erect, acuminate to shortly aristate, as long as the flowers to slightly shorter floral bracts and carrying wide open flowers.
"The new species resembles Oberonia pachyphylla King & Pantl., but it differs well in the fmbriate floral bracts, the verruculose sepals, the denticulate petals and the fimbriate lip.
