Found in India in semi evergrteen forests in shade at elevations of 800 to 2200 meters as a small sized, warm to cold growing epiphyte with a stem enveloped completely by imbricating leaf sheath bases carrying articulate at the base, fleshy, brown to purplish, oblong-ensiform, narrowing at the middle to the apex, acute leaves that blooms in the summer and earlier fall on a terminal, erect, flattened peduncle adnate to the uppermost leaf, to 6.4" [16 cm] long, rachis to 6.4" [16 cm] long, densely many flowered inflorescence carrying verticillate, pale greenish yellow to brick red flowers.
