Found in Papua New Guinea in upper montane forests in moss with shade at elevations of 2370 to 3300 meters as a miniature to just medium sized, cool to cold growing epiphyte or terrestrial with glabrous, unbranched to sometimes sparsely branched, slightly flexous, subterete, sapically leafy stem that carries erect-patent, glabrous, ensiform-linear, acute, slightly narrowed basally leaves that blooms in the spring and summer on a slender, glabrous, [2.6" to 5.6" [6.5 to 14 cm] long, many flowered, racemose, strongly flexuous, laterally compressed and widened inflorescence with 1 to 3 scales along the length and has glabrous, tubular basally, ligulate apically, acute floral bracts carrying sessile flowers
