Part of the SECTION Teritifoliae-Scirpoidae O geraensis Alliance with O decumbens, O geraensis, O juncifolia, O palmyrabellae, O rodiensis, O sulfurea and O unguiculata and are distinguished by the straight leaves large and strong plants with obtuse petals anda tribobed lip.
