Common Name The Spear-Shaped Petal Octomeria

Flower Size .5" [1.25 cm]

Found in southern Venezuela and northern Brazil at elevations around 1800 meters as a miniature to small sized, cool growing epiphyte with erect, slender stems enveloped by 3 to 8, tubular sheaths and carrying erect, thickly coriaceous, linear-lanceolate, acute to finely tridenticulate apically, cuneate and sessile below into the base leaves that blooms in the fall, winter and spring on a fascile of several, peduncle less than .04" [1 mm] long, simultaneously single flowered inflorescence with shorter than the ovary floral bract and carrying dark red flowers."
