Found in Colombia, Ecuador and Peru at elevations of 1800 to 2600 meters as a medium sized, cool to cold growing epiphyte with close spaced, egg-shaped, laterally compressed, ancipitous, longitudinally grooved, tapering to a pointed apex pseudobulbs enveloped partially by a pair of leaf-bearing sheaths and carrying 2, apical, erect, narrowly lanceolate, acute, tapering below into the elongate, petiolate base leaves that blooms on an axillary, 16" [40 cm] long, erect-arching, to 15 flowered inflorescence arising on a newly matured pseudobulb.
