Common Name The Hairy Odontoglossum
Flower Size 1 1/5" [3 cm]
Found in Colombia and Ecuador in montane cloud forests at elevations of 2400 to 3100 meters as a small sized, cool to cold growing epiphyte with ovate, flattened, ancipitous pseudobulbs enveloped basally by 6 to 8, distichous, uppermost foliaceous sheaths and carrying 1 to 2, apical, narrowly elliptic to obovate, acute to shortly acuminate apically , conduplicate below into the subpetiolate base leaves that blooms in the fall through early spring in situ on an axillary, erect to arching, basally straight apically gradually fractiflex, 8" [20 cm] long, racemose, loosely 2 to 5 flowered, rarely paniculate, densely to 30 flowered inflorescence with appressed, scale-like shorter than the ovary floral bracts and carrying slightly caqmpanulate flowers with the petals projected forward.
