Common Name The Many Star Odontoglossum

Flower Size 2" [5 cm]

Found in Ecuador, Peru and Bolivia in dense, upper, montane cloud forests at elevations of 2000 to 3000 meters as a small sized, cold growing epiphyte or terrestrial on steep embankments with ovate, flattened, ancipitous pseudobulbs enveloped basally by several distichous, imbricating sheaths with the uppermost being leaf-bearing and carrying 1 to 2, conduplicate, ovate to obovate to elliptic, obtuse to acute, subpetiolate base leaves that blooms in the winter and spring on an axillary,arising on a mature pseudobulb, erect to arching, flexuous raceme to flexuous panicle with spreading few flowered side branches, to 6" [15 cm] long, 4 to 16" [10 to 40 cm] long overall, loosely few to several flowered inflorescence with appressed, scale-like shorter than the ovary floral bracts and carrying stellate flowers.
