Common Name Wyatt's Odontoglossum [English Reverend and Orchid Enthusaist later 1800's to eaerlier 1900's]

Found in Peru in wet montane cloud forests in deep shade on solitary trees at altitudes of 1500 to 2300 meters as a caespitose, medium sized, warm to cool growing, epiphytic species with elliptic-ovoid, compressed, sulcate with time pseudobulbs that are subtended by leaf bearing sheaths and carrying 2, apical, oblong-elliptic, petiolate, subacute leaves that blooms in the late winter and spring on an axillary, erect, 16" [40 cm] long, pedunculate, few to several [5 to 10] flowered, racemose inflorescence with lanceolate, acuminate floral bracts that are shorter than the ovary arising on a mature pseudobulb with several [8], very fragrant flowers held well above the leaves.
