Found in Antioquia, Colombia in cloud forests at elevations of 2000 to 2500 meters as a small to medium sized, cold growing orchid with clustered, ovate, laterally compressed, ancipitous, longitudinally grooved pseudobulbs that taper apically and basally are partially enveloped by several distichous, imbricating leaf-bearing sheaths carrying 2, erect, linear, acute, conduplicate below into the long, narrow, petiolate base leaves that blooms on an erect to arching, axillary, 15" [38 cm] long, to 7 flowered inflorescence arising on a recently matured pseudobulb
