Found in Bolivia and northen Argentina at elevations around 250 meters as a medium sized, cool to cold growing terrestrial with unknown basal leaves the plant is probably hysteranthous and has an erect, very thin, glabrous below, puberulent above stem enveloped by 8 to 10, somewhat imbricate sheaths gradually getting smaller and becoming bracts above that blooms in the late spring and early summer on a terminal, erect, 8 to 16" [20 to 40 cm] long, rachis 4 to 5.6" [10 to 14 cm] long, many flowered inflorescence.
