Found in western Madagascar in scrubland and forests undregrowth at elevations up to 80 to 100 meters as a large sized, warm growing terrestrial with small conical pseudobulbs carrying 2 to 4, erect, fleshy, arise after blooming, linear, mottled leaves that blooms in the early summer on a branching, erect, to 56" [140 cm] long, many flowered inflorescence
