Found in Colombia on the eastern cordillera in the Department of Boyaca and Santander in lower cloud forests at elevations around 2700 meters as a small sized, cold growing epiphyte with narrowly oval, laterally flattened, ancipitous pseudobulbs enveloped basally by several, disitchous, imbricating, conduplicate leaf-bearing sheaths and carrying a single, apical, somewhat leathery, erect, oblong, acute apically, narrowing gradually below into the conduplicate, short, narrow, petiolate base leaf that blooms in the spring on a to 4" [10 cm] long, erect, axillary, 4 flowered, racemose inflorescence arising on a newly matured pseudobulb
