Found in Venezuela, Colombia, Ecuador and Peru at elevations around 1600 to 2300 meters as miniature to small sized, cool to cold growing epiphyte with clustered, oblong-ovoid, yellowish, laterally compressed pseudobulbs enveloped basally by several sheaths and carrying a single, erect, linear to oblong-linear, obtuse, narrowing below into the conduplicate petiolate base leaves that blooms in the later spring and early summer on an erect to arching, slender, to 12" [to 30 cm] long, axillary, several flowered, paniculate, 3 to 6 branched, 2 to 7 flowered inflorescence arising on a mature pseudobulb
