Found in southern Ecuador and northern Peru at elevations around 1500 to 2200 meters as medium sized, cool to cold growing epiphyte or terrestrial with clustered, narrowly ovate, laterally compressed pseudobulbs enveloped basally by 2 to 3 leaf bearing sheaths and carrying 2, erect, oblong-lanceolate, narrowing below into the conduplicate petiolate base leaves that blooms on an erect to arching, slender, to 39" [to 100 cm] long, axillary, numerously flowered, paniculate, 30 branched inflorescence carrying 4 to 8 flowers on each branch, arising on a mature pseudobulb
