Common Name or Meaning The Three Nosed Odontoglossum [Refers to the callus of the lip]

Found in Colombia and Ecuador on the western slope of the Andes in wet montane forests at elevations of 900 to 1500 meters as a small sized, warm to cool growing epiphyte with ovate, slightly laterally compressed, ancipitous, longitudinally rugose pseudobulbs enveloped basally by a few leaf bearing sheaths and carrying a single, apical, lanceolate, narrowing below into the elongate, conduplicate petiolate base leaf that blooms in the fall and early winter on a basal through the leaf axil, erect, to 32" [to 80 cm] long, paniculate, several branched, each branch 5 to 7 flowered inflorescence.
