Common Name The Beautiful Oncidium

Found in southern Ecuador and Amazonas department of Peru at elevations around 1100 meters in wet montane forests as a medium sized, cool growing epiphyte with a short rhizome giving rise to narrowly ovate, strongly laterally compressed, ancipitose pseudobulbs carrying a single, apical, erect, linear-lanceoalte, obtuse, narrowing belo into a shortly conduplicate base leaf that blooms on an axillary, nodding, peduncle ususally shorter thna the rachis, 100 to 140" [250 to 350 cm] long overall, rachis 20 to 30 branched, each branch 5 to 12 flowered, branches spreading, many flowered inflorescence carrying nonfragrant flowers.
