Found in Colombia at elevations around 1600 to 1700 meters as a small sized, cool growing epiphyte with a short rhizome giving rise to elliptical to narrowly ovate, strongly compressed laterally, acute leaves that blooms in the later spring on a paniculate, heteranthous, erect to nodding, short pedunculate, rachis to 20 branched, each branch spreading to 8" [20 cm] long, each branch tip with one fertile flower and the rest of the flowers on the branch are sterile, many sterile flowered, several fertile flowerd inflorescence.
