Flower Size 1/2" to 3/4" [1.25 to 2 cm]
Found in Mexico, Guatemala, Honduras and Belize in riverine forests at elevations around 300 meters as a miniature, hot to warm growing mule-eared epiphyte. Wow! I Like It!! This mule eared Orchid has tiny pseudobulbs enveloped almost completely by dry basal leafless sheaths and carries a single, apical, coarse, leathery, strongly keeled dorsally. elliptic, shortly conduplicate below into the base leaf and blooms in the spring on an erect, 7" [17.5 cm] long inflorescence with a few, successively opening flowers occuring more than once from the same spike and lasting several months each time.
