Common Name The Maize-Like Leaf Oncidium

Flower Size 1" [2.5 cm]

Found in Colombia and Venezuela at elevations of 900 to 2100 meters as a medium sized, warm to cool growing epiphyte with egg-shaped, laterally compressed pseudobulbs partially enveloped basally, by several, imbricating, distichous leafless and leaf bearing sheaths and carrying one to 2 apical, oblong to lanceolate, acute, ventrally keeled entirely, dorsally folded below to form a short petiole-like stem leaves that blooms in the late spring, summer and fall on an axillary, 39 to 59" [100 to 150 cm] long, erect then arching, twining, paniculate, slightly fractiflex, laxly many flowered inflorescence arising on a newly matured pseudobulb with each major, 12" [30 cm] long branch carrying 15 to 20, widely spread, fragrant flowers.
