Common Name The Dwarf Lophiaris
Flower Size 3/4" [2 cm]
A small sized, hot to warm growing, mule ear epiphyte from Venezuela, Brazil, the Guineas, Colombia, Ecuador, Bolivia and Peru in wet montane forest, most often on citrus and avocado trees at elevations of sealevel to 1400 meters that has elliptic, elliptic oblong, or oblanceolate, cuneate or tapered to the narrow base, acute, thick, leathery, purple speckled, dull green leaves and blooms with a basal, short to 4" [10 cm], arcuate to suberect, few to many, successively flowered, racemose, clustered panicle with longlasting flowers that is shorter or just longer than the leaves arising on a mature growth and occuring in the spring through fall.
