Common Name The Panama Oncidium

Found in Panama and northwestern Colombia in rainforests at elevations below 150 meters as a large sized, hot growing epiphyte with closely spaced, oblong to egg-shaped, laterally compressed, strongly ridged pseudobulbs enveloped basally by 3 to 4 elongate, imbricate, distichous, leaflike, longitudinally folded sheaths and carrying 2, linear-lanceolate, acute, slightly leathery, contracted below into the conduplicate, petiolate base leaves that blooms in the spring on 1 to 2, axillary, 3'4" to 11'8" [100 to 350 cm] long, arching, pendulous, paniculate, many flowered inflorescence arising on a newly matured pseudobulb.
