Found in Napo province of Ecuador at elevations around 1600 meters as a small sized, cool growing epiphyte with an ovate, strongly compressed, ancipitous pseudobulb carrying 2 apical, oblong-lanceolate leaves that blooms on a paniculate, arching to ascending, 3 to 5, short branched each with 2 to 3 flowering below, 12" [30 cm] long, several flowered, racemose above inflorescence.
Similar to Oncidium andradeanum but separated by the length of the lateral sepals, by the differently shaped callus and the midline lobule of the lip hich is present in this spsecies but notin Oncidium andradeanum
