Found in Costa Rica and Panama in in wet montane forests at elevations of sealevel to 800 meters as a large sized, hot to warm growing epiphyte with subcoriaceous, linear-ligulate, oblique, subacute, glabrous leaves that blooms in the winter and spring on an erect-patent, paniculate, many branched, each branch 6 to 8 flowered, 3'4" [1 meter] long, many flowered inflorescence with ovate-oblong, acuminate floral bracts.
Similar to and often refered to as a synonym of Oncidium baueri.
