Found in Venezuela, Peru and Bolivia at elevations of 1400 to 2000 meters as a small sized, cool growing epiphyte with a short rhizome giving rie to narrowly ovate, laterally compressed pseudobulbs carrying 2 to 3 apical, lanceolate leaves that blooms on a herteranthus, nodding, paniculate, peduncle very short, rachis 15 to 25 branched, each branch to 20 twigs, each twig with 1 to 2 normal flowers, the rest abortive, 36 to 80" [90 to 200 cm] long overall, many flowered inflorecence carrying fragrant flowrs.
