Found in Peru at elevations around 1500 to 3000 meters as a small to medium sized, cool to cold growing epiphyte with a short to shortly ascending rhizome giving rise to elliptical to ovate, laterally compressed pseudobulbs carrying 2 apical, lanceolate, acute, gradually narrowing below into the petiolate base leaves that blooms on a a paniculate, erect, twining, heteranthous, about 10 short branched, very long, several flowered inflorescence held all along the rachis and has 1 to 4 abortive and 1 to 4 fertile flowers on each branch.
