Common Name The Sessile Oncidium

Found in Venezuela, Colombia, Ecuador and Peru in cool seasoanlly dry forests as a miniature sized epiphyte with a short rhizome giving rise to close set, pyriform pseudobulbs enveloped baslly by 3 pairs of imbricating leafless and leaf-bearing sheaths and carrying a single, apical, erect, linear-elliptic, acuminate, becoming conduplicate towards the base leaf that blooms in the spring an an erect, paniculate, flexuous, slender, many flowered inflorescence arising on a mature pseudobulb and with very short, acuminate, ovate floral bracts.
