Flower Size 2.6 to 3.6" [6.5 to 9 cm]

Found in Colombia, Venezuela and Peru in cloud forests at elevations of 2300 to 4000 meters as a large sized, cold growing epiphyte with conical, compressed pseudobulbs subtended by several leaf bearing sheaths with oblong-ligulate, broadly linear or oblanceolate, acute leaves that blooms on a flexuous, 4 to 8' [120 to 240 cm] long, twining, paniculate, branched at irregular intervals, the few flowered branches short to 6" [15 cm], 20 to 30 flowered inflorescence with large boat-shaped bracts occuring in the winter and spring.
