Common Name Tsubota's Oncidium [Colombian Orchid Collector and Vendor current]

Flower Size 1/2" [1.25 cm]

Found in Santander department of Colombia at elevations around 1900 meters as a medium sized, cool to cold growing epiphyte with ovate, laterally compressed, ancipitous, longitudinally grooved and rugose pseudobulbs enveloped basally by a pair of conduplicate, leafless sheaths and carry 1 to 2, apical, lanceolate, thinly leathery, acute, tapering and conduplicate below into the short narrow base leaves and blooms in the spring in cultivation on an erect to ascending, paniculate, many flowered inflorescence with the, up to 16, short branches along the entire length, each carrying 3 to 7, successively opening, fragrant flowers.
