Found in Bolivia occuring on large trees in pastures at elevations around 100 meters as a medium sized, hot growing epiphyte that is a natural hybrid between O jonesianum and O stacyi with pendent, clustered, ovate pseudobulbs enveloped by scarious sheaths and carrying a single, apical, fleshy, stiff, terete, acute to acuminate leaf that blooms in the summer on a basal, racemose, to [51 cm] long, semipendulous, peduncle slender, distantly several sheathed, to 14 flowered inflorescence with linear-lanceoalte, acuminate, concave, shorter than the pedicel floral bracts
