Common Name The Spider-Shaped Ophyrs

Flower Size 1.2" [3 cm]

Found in Spain, France, Corsica, Sardinia, Italy and Western Yugoslavia in short poor grasslands, scrub and garrigue at elevations up to 1000 meters as miniature to medium sized, cold growing terrestrials that bloom in the spring on a 4 to 20" [10 to 50 cm] long, laxly, 2 to 10 flowered inflorescence. A natural hybrid between O fuciflora and O sphegodes that includes a group of former species including O archipelagi.
