Found in Portugal, Spain, Balaeric Islands, France and Italy in short grasslands, abandoned cultivation, scrub, olive groves and pinewoods at elevations up to 1500 meters as a small to medium sized, cold growing terrestrial that blooms in the late winter and early spring on a dense, 2 to 6 flowered inflorescence.
