A miniature to medium sized, cold growing terrestrial orchid that is found in the Aegean, Albania, Crete, Greece and western Turkey in short grasslands, garrigue, scrub and open woodlands at elevations up to 1100 meters that blooms on a terminal, erect, 4 to 14" [10 to 35 cm] long, laxly 2 to 8 flowered inflorescence
